Forgive my... moment of displeasure, the other day. It is difficult to overcome the training of a lifetime, and it goes against a Healer's nature to deny medical treatment to anyone. I have spoken with our Lord, however, and He has calmed my mind on these matters.
I do not think Muggleborns have any place amongst us, that much is true. However, I do not believe that mass slaughter is the wisest option, or their deaths by an agent that could be used against us in the future, as the vaccine issue might have. If we do not act, we give our detractors something to add weight to their arguments against us. For the moment at least, we need to be more subtle in our efforts to remove them from proper wizarding society than outright death, to the public at least. Deaths that cannot be traced back to us, however, I have no argument with.

I do not have time to deal with Jacqueline Wilkes right now. Does she not realise that? Her willingness to further the cause is commendable but right now I cannot devote any time to her without taking it away from Bellatrix and our plans.
Speaking of those plans, I am waylaying an Auror tomorrow, just before the trial begins. I trust our compatriots will understand why I am not there.

I will not be there; I have business to attend to, and you know I have never shown a public opinion of British politics. It would not do to ruin my cover so far along.

It has taken until today for a full catalogue of my injuries to be provided to me. Normally I would have words with the healers about withholding information from a patient, but I can understand their reasoning. The terms would frighten someone who did not know what they mean; I understand them all too well.
The lung, oddly enough, is the least worrisome of the list. A rib punctured it and there is residual bruising, but aside from some pain whilst breathing, there is little concern there, and the pain should taper off in a few days. It is unlikely that there is any permanent damage worth speaking of, which is something to be thankful for, I suppose.
My leg, however, is another story. The brunt of the hex fell upon the calf just below the knee, and the damage is twofold; the tendons of the knee joint were damaged further to their already weakened state, and the muscle was quite badly torn by bone shards when the tibia shattered. We can regrow bone, but muscle is another matter; the healers are uncertain as to the permanent extent of the damage. Part of the muscle had to be excised or risk gangrene, because the bone shards were too numerous to extract in an expedient manner. Prognosis is unclear.
And I must still use this blasted Dictaquill. Blood loss takes time to recover from; I am still so damnably tired, and the healers have forbidden writing, as though that will tax me more than anything else I am doing.

I am not angry with you. An attraction to my daughter is hardly reason enough for someone I am as fond of as I am you.
And if I know you, you are looking for more of that Calming Draught. Please do not; I would rather you come speak with me, if you are feeling that anxious. I do not like the amounts you seem to have been consuming of late.
